Overview
Stippa lets customers pay as they book. That runs through a payment processor: Stripe or Mollie. You pick which one you use and connect it to your Stippa settings once.
Once it is set up, a customer is sent to a secure payment page after filling in their details. The appointment is confirmed once the payment goes through.
What you need
Before you can switch payments on:
- An account with Stripe or Mollie, both free to create
- Your business details: name, address and VAT number
- A bank account for payouts
- Identity verification, which every payment processor is legally required to ask for
Creating an account with Stripe or Mollie is free. You only pay transaction fees when a customer actually pays.
Step 1: Pick a payment processor
Stippa works with Stripe and Mollie. Both support iDEAL and the usual payment methods in the Netherlands.
If you are not sure which to use, see Stripe or Mollie: which should I pick?.
Step 2: Create an account with them
Go to the website of the processor you picked and create a free account.
Fill in your business details and complete the identity verification. That usually takes no more than a few minutes.
Step 3: Connect it to Stippa
Go to Settings > Payments in your dashboard and select your processor. Click Connect and follow the steps in the wizard.
For the Stripe connection in detail, see Setting up Stripe to receive customer payments.
Step 4: Switch payment on per service
Connecting a processor does not switch payments on by itself. You decide per service whether payment is required.
Go to Services, click a service and switch Payment required on.
Step 5: Test a payment
Use your processor's test mode to simulate a payment before going live. That is how you know it all works.
After a successful test payment, switch to live mode in your processor's dashboard.
