Why make a test booking?
A customer only sees your booking page and the emails that follow. By booking yourself, you see exactly the same: which services are listed, which times are free and what the confirmation looks like.
How to make one
- Open Getting started with the checklist icon at the top right and go to the chapter Your first booking.
- Click Open booking page. Your page opens in a new tab.
- Choose a service and a time, and fill in your details.
- Use the same email address you log in with. That's how Stippa recognizes it as your test booking, and the step then ticks itself off.
When you come back to the Stippa tab, the step shows as done. You don't need to refresh the page.
What happens next
- You get the confirmation email every customer gets. You change its wording under Customer messages.
- The appointment is in your calendar, just like any other booking.
- There's a customer with your email address in your customer list, because a booking always belongs to a customer.
Afterwards, simply cancel the test appointment like any other appointment.
Do you ask customers to confirm their email address?
If email verification is on, your test booking also waits for the click in the email. Open the email and confirm your address, and the booking goes through.
No times showing?
If your booking page shows no times at all, read No time slots are showing. Usually a roster is missing, or nobody is set to be bookable online.
Does a test booking count as your first online customer?
No. A booking with your own email address never counts as your first online customer. That milestone only comes when someone else books online themselves.
